Torrey-Elliott experiment is an important experiment to study atmospheric pressure. The experiment teaching usually focuses on the operation of the experiment and analysis of various influencing factors. It only stays on the experimental surface and does not dig deep into the discipline thinking behind the experiment. Through careful design of this experimental teaching, this article focuses on exploring the contents and ways of training students ’disciplinary thinking in order to realize in-depth teaching and cultivate students’ thinking in physics.
