The rotation resistance coefficient is an important operating parameter for the vehicle bogie, which influences upon the dynamic behavior of vehicle directly. The research on the rotation resistance coefficient of type A vehicle motor bogies is made by means of theoretical calculation, dynamic simulation and test certification etc.The result of simulation analysis shows that the rotation resistance coefficient links to air springs stiffness and negotiated curve radii, and varies proportionally to changes of air springs horizontal stiffness, the greater the rotation angle is,the greater the factor is.The certifications made under the operating conditions with different air spring status,at different rotation speeds and so forth show that the rotation resistance coefficient increases as the rotation speed goes up;the anti-yaw dampers can contribute to rotation resistance torque acted on bogie, and the greater the rotation speeds are,the greater the torque generated by the anti-yaw dampers is.The results show that the theoretical analysis, dynamics simulation exactly match with the results from the bogie bench tests, the test results meet requirements in EN14363 and the indicators in vehicles safe operation.
