To investigate the changes of plasma endothelin (ET) and calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) before and after renal transplantation. We detected the levels of ET and CGRP in plasma before and after renal transplantation by radioimmunoassay in 21 renal transplant recipients. Results: The plasma ET level in patients with uremia before kidney transplantation was significantly higher (134.31 ± 29.4ng / L) than that in the control group (44.71 ± 11.84ng / L) (P <0.01). After ET, the level of ET was significantly decreased (112.06 ± 31.44ng / L) compared with that before operation (P <0.05), and the level of CGRP after transplantation was (78.11 ± 41.27ng / L ) Was significantly higher than before transplantation (40.77 ± 19.52ng / L), the difference was significant (P <0.05). Authors believe that ET content in patients with kidney disease increased blood levels and CGRP decreased two factors together to accelerate the deterioration of renal function in patients. With the decrease of ET and the increase of CGRP after renal transplantation, the symptoms of hypertension were relieved. It is suggested that the changes of ET and CGRP in the plasma of renal allograft patients are of great significance for judging prognosis and rejection.
