The effects of irrigation, planting distance and other related factors on the yield and growth of small-grain coffee were studied. The effective radiation flux was the main factor affecting the yield. In May (rainy season), the photosynthetically available radiative fluxes at the top of the canopy were less affected by irrigation and coffee density, while photosynthetically available radiation was much lower in the middle and lower canopy layers of irrigated plants, with increased coffee density and significantly lower flux.
