A worker at the British Atomic Energy Research Institute introduced a small amount of gold 195m into the bloodstream and photographed it as it passed through the atria to diagnose heart disease. The gold 195m is a gamma-radiation source with a half-life of 30.5 seconds. Therefore, it is possible to check its course through the heart with a gamma-ray sensitive camera to obtain a video recording of the heart and heart movements.
