信阳木工机械厂铸造车间,为了提高砂箱的使用寿命,对砂箱结构进行了改进,将箱角改作弧形扁管状。经使用证明,效果较好,砂箱寿命有了明显的增加;但在多次的使用后,箱角扁管弧形处出现裂纹和断裂,致使砂箱报废。为此,该厂在原改进有基础上,再次改进了箱角结构(见图)。即将箱角内弧段改为直壁,并在中间段上开一小口,外弧壁的壁厚增至箱壁厚的1.2～1.4倍,箱角结构尺寸见图。

That is, the angle of the box corner is changed to straight wall, and a small opening is formed in the middle section. The wall thickness of the outer arc wall is increased to 1.2 to 1.4 times of the wall thickness of the box, and the size of the box corner structure is shown in the figure.
