2013年9月30日,猎鹰-9(Falcon-9)火箭携带加拿大“级联小卫星和电离层磁极探索者”(CASSIOPE)科学和通信卫星,从位于加利福尼亚州的范登堡空军基地发射升空。该卫星是加拿大研发的、旨在对太空磁暴现象及规律进行研究的专业科技卫星,并携带有新型的太空通信测试设施;同时也是加拿大航天局(CSA)重点推动的新一代小卫星和多功能平台技术的实验项目,可为加拿大未来太空任务提供新的平台选择。这次发射也是太空探索技术公司(SpaceX)首次利用美国范登堡空军基地执行发射任务。
On September 30, 2013, the Falcon-9 rocket carried the Canadian CASSIOPE science and communications satellite from the Vandenberg Air Force in California The base was launched. The satellite is a professional scientific and technological satellite developed by Canada that is designed to study the phenomena and laws of space magnetic storms and carries a new type of space communications test facility. It is also a new generation of small satellites and multi-functionally promoted by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Platform technology pilot project, for the future of Canada’s space mission to provide a new platform option. This launch is also the first space launch by SpaceX Technologies (NASDAQ: Vandenberg).
