Lymphoid tissue-inducing cells (LTi) are a new type of natural lymphocyte that is essential for the development of peripheral lymphoid tissues in humans and mice and persists in the adult body. Detailed studies in mice have confirmed their involvement in innate immunity and immune memory; recently human studies have found that they are significantly elevated in patients with multiple sclerosis but their mechanisms of involvement in inflammation are unclear. In this review, we summarize the proinflammatory and immune memory effects of LTi cells, and provide a prospect for the potential role of this cell in inflammatory diseases such as hepatitis B, so as to provide reference for the mechanism and potential application of LTi.
