Cilia are minute structures present on the surface of respiratory and other epithelial cells which beat continuously and automatically. Ciliary beating creates a continuous movement of the surface peri-epithelial fluid which is often responsible for the normal functioning of the mucosa. Ciliary abnormalities could therefore lead to multi-system diseases. Patients with primary ciliary dyskinesia could potentially develop recurrent sinotrachrobronchitis, bronchiectasis, serous otitis media, hydrocephalus, and male infertility. The assessment of cilia has, however, received little attention until recently and generally involve elaborate methods which require complex and expensive technology. This brief article therefore discusses the application of the saccharine test, light microscopy assessment of ciliary beat, and transmission electron microscopy assessment of ultrastructure of cilia. The rationale and indications for light microscopy assessment are also listed along with illustrations which show ciliary structure, equipment required for sampling and assessment of cilia, and transmission electron micrographs of ciliary ultrastructural abnormalities.

左前分支传导阻滞是一种常见的心室内传导阻滞,多为冠心病所致。单纯性左前分支传导阻滞一般并无严重的后果,但若伴随其它束支或分支的传导阻滞或伴有心肌梗塞,则预后就可有很大不同。所以很有必要识别单纯者和合并者。我们复习我院历年来住院确诊、资料齐全的急性心肌梗塞病例中,有11例因左前分支传导阻滞而将心肌梗塞的心电图形掩盖。为引起对这一情况的重视,兹报道于下。

1975年我们开展了淋巴母细胞转化率检查流行性乙型脑炎(下称乙脑)的工作。32例中有25例低于正常(正常值为61±9或≥52%),提示大部分患者的细胞免疫是降低的。鉴于乙脑伴有细胞免疫的降低,故设想在原中西医综合治疗的基础上给予增强机体免疫功能的制剂,以便提高疗效。我们在上海第二医学院转移因子小组和上海生物制品研究所血液制剂室支持下,试用正常人外周血白细胞转移因子(TF)和免疫核糖核酸(iRNA)

我组与上海药物研究所等单位协作,对用华中五味子有效成份——五味子酯甲,治疗小白鼠急性和亚急性四氯化碳中毒二组动物的肝细胞进行了电子显微镜观察。结果发现:附加五味子酯甲治疗的二组,肝细胞完整,细胞浆及线粒体、粗面内质网、细胞核、毛细胆管、狄氏腔及枯否细胞等皆完整;而未用五味子酯甲治疗的二组,皆见有不同程度的细胞浆空泡化,线粒体肿胀,小嵴断裂、溶解及髓样变性,粗面内质网的核糖核酸颗粒减少、或失去正常的

嘧啶苯芥(合-520)系我国创制的抗肿瘤新药,为白色或类白色结晶性粉末。化学名为5-{对-苯氧基}尿嘧啶。属烷化剂类抗肿瘤药物,为细胞周期非特异性药物。能抑制脱氧核糖核酸和核糖核酸的合成。本品是一种具有较广抗瘤谱的药物,能显著抑制小鼠肉瘤-180、肉瘤-37、肉瘤-AK、艾氏腹水瘤实体型、脑瘤-22以及大鼠全生肉瘤、吉田肉瘤和瓦克癌等8种实体肿瘤的生长。

1975年5~8月,我们对乌盟四子王旗草原牧民进行了血脂普查。共查纯牧民954人,其中蒙族740人(男384人,女356人),在牧区居住10年以上的汉族牧民214人(男160人,女54人)。年龄均在30岁以上(30岁以下仅30人)。血清胆固醇定量用改良ZaK氏法,甘油三酯用改良Van Handel氏法,血清脂蛋白电泳用0.5%琼脂糖溶液,血清以苏丹黑B异丙醇溶液预染,电泳后以72型分光光度计比色。
