A World Bank report released on January 21 said that private investment, which developing countries, known as “emerging markets” received in 1994, has seen more growth than in the past 10 years. The total amount of private capital inflows to developing countries in 1994 was 173 billion U.S. dollars, more than quadrupling from 41.9 billion U.S. dollars five years ago. The report said that at present, private capital flows into some low-income countries. For example, China has reached 26 billion U.S. dollars in investment and India ranks among the best. However, most private capital flows into middle-income countries.
