Studies have shown that endothelial cell (EC) damage and the role of endotoxin has a close relationship [1,2], but the mechanism is not yet fully clear. Nitric oxide (NO) is both a messenger molecule and a toxic molecule [3]. A large number of NO produced by inflammatory or immune stimuli can react with free radicals such as superoxide anions (O ÷ 2) to form more toxic peroxynitrite anion.
