毛泽东在领导我国革命和建设的实践中，始终坚持了自力更生为主，争取外援为辅的原则，并力主在自力更生的基础上，实行对外开放。凡是把毛泽东坚持自力更生的方针与闭关锁国生硬地联系到一起的做法，都是极端错误的。
In his practice of leading the revolution and construction in our country, Mao Zedong has always adhered to the principle of relying mainly on self-reliance and winning support from foreign aid, and advocated opening up to the outside world on the basis of self-reliance. Any practice of linking Mao Tse-tung’s principle of “self-reliance” with the “closed-door policy” is extremely wrong.
