Language is the tool of society, the use of language reflects the culture of a society. The relationship between language and culture constitutes an important aspect of second language learning. Language and culture are intertwined closely, and the use of language can not be separated from the specific social environment. Language is not only a tool for people to use for communication, but also reflects the language characteristics of a nation and often reflects the social, cultural and life characteristics of the country. For example, the term drive-in refers to the current American society and the American people’s culture. A portrayal of life With the development of the automobile industry and the acceleration of people’s life, various services to the car’s facilities have been invented: drive-inrestaurants (roadside restaurants where people can buy food when they sit in their cars), drive-in banks (Service to the car on the side of the road bank), drive-in movies (for the car to watch the large open-air cinema), and even drive-inlibraries, drive-in churches, dirve-in post offices, drive-in weddings and so on . These vocabularies vividly reflect an important aspect of the American people’s life - fast pace, high efficiency and convenience. Thus, to learn a language, it is bound to be familiar with the country’s society, culture and even customs and habits. It is very difficult or even impossible to learn the social and cultural knowledge of the country where the language is spoken and to learn the authentic foreign language. Therefore, the relationship between language and culture should be handled well in foreign language teaching. But for many years, English teaching in our country has always paid more attention to the explanation of language forms (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary) for a variety of reasons, but less on the social and cultural aspects of English and American families.
