江泽涵先生1902年10月6日生手安徽省旌德县,按中国算法今年90岁。1922～1926年在南开大学数学系学习。毕业后在厦门大学数学系工作一年。1927年留学美国,1930年获Har-vard大学博士学位,导师是M.Morse;接着在Princeton大学工作一年,做S.Lefschetz的助教。1931年回国,受聘为北京大学教授,至今恰已60周年;1934年起任系主任,直至1952年院系
