大旺山楂原产地为吉林省磐石县大旺乡,1976年发现,1980年命名,是目前全国主推的46个品种之一。其明显区别于其它山楂品种特性是抗寒力强,生长在年平均气温4.3℃、一月份平均气温-18℃以下、绝对最低温度-40℃、≥10℃积温2,700℃、无霜期125天左右的条件下,无冻害,生长旺盛,正常成熟。大旺山楂呈半开张圆头树形,成龄树高4—5米,树冠直径4.5米左右。树势高,营养枝平均长度36厘米,萌芽率37.5％,成枝率70％,发枝指数2.72。以中果枝结
