我国的桥梁建筑,历史悠久,源远流长。现存古桥之多,更是世界各国所罕见。但究竟哪一座是现存修建年代最早的古桥呢?近十年来,经过专家们的研究、考证,又有了一些新的发现,并引起世界桥梁界的关注。过去人们普遍认为,建于公元606—616年(隋大业年间)的赵州安济桥,“是我国现存的最古老的桥梁,也是世界桥梁工程上首创的敞肩石拱大桥。”(罗英著《中国石桥》语)该桥全长50米,跨径37.02米,结构奇巧,造型美 China’s bridge construction, has a long history and has a long history.
