Located on the western side of Sydney’s city, Blue Mountains is a long mountain range covering about one million hectares. The origin of the name of Blue Mountain is because there is blue fog. The landscape was formed because the leaves of Australia’s eucalyptus tree, Eucalyptus, release a gas that accumulates on the peaks and valleys, creating a blue mist that gives the Blue Mountains its name. Blue Mountains National Park belongs to the Greater Blue Mountains, is located in New South Wales. The Blue Mountains are home to Pope’s pristine jungles and subtropical rainforests. There are 90 different varieties of Eucalyptus trees and more than 400 species of animals in the Blue Mountains Park. The Blue Mountains have many ancient campsites, stripes carved from ax, carved stone and living tools made of stone, all preserved in the Blue Mountains
