将近代“新学”等同于“西学”的认识 ,既不符合近代社会与文化发展的历史实际 ,也无法揭示“新学”所包含的丰厚的内涵与时代特征。近代新学既是社会文明转型的历史需求 ,也是社会文明转型的学理动力。因此 ,脱离开对于近代中国社会文明转型历史过程的把握 ,脱离开对于传统中学近代变迁过程的历史定位 ,就无从理解近代新学的意义和价值。近代新学是传统中学适应社会变迁的文化转型。它的形成和发展 ,不仅体现着社会变动的力度和深度 ,同时它也构成了推进社会变革进程的学理动力。
The recognition of modern “New Learning” as “Western Learning” does not accord with the historical reality of modern social and cultural development, nor can it reveal the rich connotation and the characteristics of the times contained in “New Learning.” Neo-modern learning is not only the historical needs of the transformation of social civilization, but also the driving force of social civilization transformation.
