对黄瓜花芽发育过程中雌、雄性器官进行了显微形态学研究及雄花发育晚期SDS-PAGE分析.结果表明黄瓜雌、雄花的发育可细分为10个时期,黄瓜单性花的形成首先经历两性期,之后再分别向雌或雄的方向发育,在两性期(时期V)之前,雌、雄花之间不存在明显的形态学差异.进一步考察雌、雄花中相反性别的性器官(雌花中的雄蕊和雄花中的心皮)的发育命运,发现在雌花的形成过程中,雄蕊生长停滞,但不退化.在雄花的形成过程中,心皮不断生长.雄花心皮的SDS-PGAG分析表明,发育后期雄花的心皮仍能合成新的蛋白质,具代谢活性.
