Be (10) Be is the product of the spallation reaction between the cosmic ray energetic particles and the major nitrogen and oxygen nuclei in the atmosphere. The main nuclear reactions are ~ (14) N (PX) ~ (10) Be and ~ (18) O ~ (10) Be. ~ (10) Be half-life of 1.6 × 10 ~ 6 years. The production rate of ~ (10) Be in the stratosphere increased with latitude, while the yield of ~ (10) Be in the troposphere remained almost stable. About 70% of ~ 10 Be is produced in the stratosphere and 30% of ~ 10 Be originates in the troposphere. The ~ (10) Be produced in the atmosphere mainly settles to the surface by precipitation. 1.
