Rubber tree artificial fruit pollination rate is very low. Hybridization tests conducted by the Malaysian Institute of Rubber Research from 1969-1980 showed that the average fruit set rate for pollination in the first major flowering season was 3% and the average fruit set rate for pollination in the second flowering season was 8%. Heusser (1919) and Maas (1919) studied the biology of Acacia flowers and attempted artificial pollination.
