《窃信案》中精神与现实之间的关系包含了一种知觉论。知觉论涉及的范围很广,主要指的是客观事物通过感觉器官在人脑中直接反映。在处理表现模式中,创造者和知觉者都认为,感知客体是零距离,可是前者要求材料变成一种想象力时具有神的作用,不同于后者。前者创造,而后者则还原,两者都赋予了想象力。杜宾描绘的“单双”游戏含有知觉论,其中有主体与客体的一致性。杜宾头脑的知觉力非常强,表现出的能力既有创造又能解决问题。
