全面建设小康社会是党的十六大提出的在本世纪头20年的奋斗目标,党的十七大又从实际出发,适应国内外形势发展的新变化,对目标提出了新的更高要求。国家统计局统计科研所课题组监测结果显示,2000～2007年,我国经济保持较快发展,居民生活质量明显提高,社会事业加快发展,全面建设小康社会稳步向前迈进。 To build a moderately prosperous society in all its aspects is the goal set forth by the 16th CPC National Congress in the first two decades of this century. The 17th CPC Congress proceeded from reality and adapted to the new changes in the situation at home and abroad, setting new and higher demands on the goal . According to the monitoring results of the Task Force of the National Bureau of Statistics statistics research institutes, from 2000 to 2007, China’s economy maintained a rapid development, the quality of life of residents was significantly improved, social undertakings accelerated development, and the building of an overall well-to-do society was steadily moving forward.
