In addition to giving people time losses, spam is even used by criminals. On December 4, U.S. government officials warned local financial services agencies in the United States that Al Qaeda is likely to paralyze the pages of financial institutions and stock exchanges in “massive spamming” attacks. Other criminals use spam to trick users into their bank accounts and passwords. Even a fraudster once used spam to cross a bank in Brazil. As far as the harm caused by the computer viruses that come with spam is even more commonplace. More interestingly, spam is a serious blow to productivity. Relevant research shows that each office worker receives an average of 13.3 spam messages per day, which takes 6 and a half minutes to process, wasting about 1.4% of their daily work time.
