М.Э. Omiriyanovski, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, has become one of the most influential natural science philosophers in the Soviet Union in recent years. In 1940 Omiriyanovsky assisted in the creation of a science institute of natural sciences in Kiev, which still holds a strong position today. Since he moved to Moscow in the mid-1950s, he has become one of the most important figures in the successful and tremendous effort to make up for Stalinism’s loss in the philosophy of science and to create a strong alliance of scientists and philosophers.
