The topic of “Futurism and Politics” is particularly broad, complex and highly contradictory. It covers a span of at least 35 years and contains hundreds of personal thoughts and actions. What this article tells is how Filippo Tommaso Marinetti tried to create a close alliance between the fighting political vanguard and the vanguard of the art world to accomplish his full revolution and constant Revolutionary goal. As an argument, it first outlines the political development experience of Marinetti, from his time as a student to that of founding a futurist movement, and then points out that his philosophy is to integrate art and life and to use some examples to prove how this is achieved in different artistic forms . This will provide a more concise overview of developments after the First World War (to create a futuristic party and to cooperate with Mussolini’s Fascist party) and, finally, to examine the fate of futurism and futuristic art under the fascist regime.
