Some of the changes that have come about quietly are a revolution: in just ten years there are more museums, more exhibitions and more viewers. During the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” period, a total of 12 new large-scale museums will be built in China; 30 new museums including the National Museum and provincial and municipal-level museums will be under construction during the “10th Five-Year Plan” period; 11 large- Expansion. Not only is the number delightful, but in keeping with the development trend of the World Museum, the Chinese museum takes on the city’s cultural function and becomes a new urban cultural center. The golden age of Chinese museum has arrived. Quantity is a relative concept. There are more than 2,000 museums in China. From a century ago, there are only a handful of Chinese museums, and the number of museums is enough to make museums proud. However, for the construction industry, the museum building is really a small industry. In the climax of China’s urbanization process, there are countless hotels, restaurants, office buildings and shopping malls to be built, and the number of museum buildings is negligible. China has never cultivated a museum
