This paper focuses on two asymmetrical novels of climate change, Susan Janus’s Carbon Dream in 2001 and Michael Creston’s 2004 State of Fear, focusing on asymmetries of trust and scientific uncertainty Sex. In his novels, Susan Ginnas urged readers to think about the proper role of science in society; and in his novel, Mike Creston presents the reader with a comic view of a shocking environmentalist who broadcasts Under the suspicion of the seeds of environmental science. The great success of Criston’s novels suggests that “a little environmental knowledge combined with literary eloquence can be dangerous.” The paper also points out that both environmental literature and ecocriticism have both positive and potential dangers.
