At the end of May 2004, at the time of the 33rd World Environment Day, Lester R. Brown, founder and former director of the United States Worldwatch Institute and current director of the Institute of Earth Policy, arrived in Beijing. Mr. Brown, who has long been concerned about China’s environmental and agricultural issues, published the book Who Who Feed China? In 1995, arousing widespread concern and discussion. During his visit to China, Mr. Brown was deeply concerned about the profound changes in China over the past two decades - the rapid economic growth and the deteriorating environment. As an environmental expert who pioneered the concept of sustainable development in the world, Mr. Brown interviewed the environment of China and the economic development related to it.
