I. Introduction “The Scarlet Letter” is a novel written by Hawthorne, a 19th-century American romantic writer who was “literary bibliography of raising artistic level” by American writer Hemingway in 1954, a winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Although the novel captures the theme of the Americas in the colonial era two hundred years ago, it exposes the cruelty of the American social code and the deception of religion and moral hypocrisy in the era of capitalist development in the nineteenth century. The protagonist Hester was written as the embodiment of lofty morality. Not only did she influence Dummesdale, a mixed-race society, she was also evoking a society full of evil. With her “noble morality and helpfulness,” she turned Adultery, the symbol of shame, into a symbol of morality and honor. The novel “The Saints” is the debut and fame of the Canadian writer Nino Ritchie who also succeeded in fashioning an anti-revolutionary and rebellious female figure in the novel - Christina, who commented She is comparable to Hester in The Scarlet Letter and is called Canada’s “Scarlet Letter.”
