Phil Weston (Will Ferrell) is your average, ho-hum kind of guy. He’s never been an athlete, much to his father Buck’s (Robert Duvall) displeasure. Now Phil is forced to watch his son endure the same humiliation as a bench warmer on his father’s little league soccer team that he experienced as a child. When Buck trades his own grandson to the Tigers, the worst team in the league, Phil decides to step up and coach them himself. Knowing nothing about soccer or coaching, Phil is determined to make sure everyone gets a chance to play and have some fun on his team. But a taste of victory brings out his competitive side, and he soon forgets why he started coaching in the first place. The sport becomes less about having fun, and more about finally getting revenge with his father...
