本文认为“武夷山”的“武夷”二字跟《淮南子》中“若菌”的“菌”字是来自古越语的音译词，前者的意思是“水中之山”，后者指“人”。
This paper holds that the word “Wuyi” in Wuyishan and the word “bacteria” in “Waka” in “Huainanzi” are the transliteration words from the ancient Yue language. The former means “mountain in water” and the latter refers to “person” .
