在中国漫画艺坛,王敦庆绝对是个举足轻重的人物,却很少有人关注。原因一是他的笔名多,读者对他了解少,即使看到了他的作品也对不上号;二是他重漫画理论,其作品影响不大。研究漫画的人侧重介绍漫画,极少谈及漫画理论的创作。其实他对中国漫画的贡献是一般漫画家所无法相提并论的。王敦庆是20世纪二三十年代最为活跃的漫画家和漫画理论家之一。他1899年生于浙江嘉兴,上中学时就开始画漫画。1923年在上海圣约翰大学文学系毕业后,曾在《上海画报》从事翻译和绘画
In the Chinese comic art scene, Wang Dunqing is definitely a pivotal figure, but very few people pay attention to it. One reason is his pen name more, readers know less about him, even see his work is not up to the number; second, he comic theory, his works have little effect. Comic books focus on comics, rarely talking about comic theory creation. In fact, his contribution to the Chinese comics can not be compared to the average cartoonist. Wang Dunqing was one of the most active cartoonists and comic theorists in the 1920s and 1930s. He was born in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province in 1899, and began to draw comics when he was in high school.
