生活在晚清时代的吴友如,其画作及成就因《点石斋画报》而为世人所知。然而,因《点石斋画报》作为通俗画报所呈现之“俗”与吴友如的艺术理想相背离,光绪十六年后,吴友如毅然通过前后创办《飞影阁画报》与《飞影阁画册》,实现其由“俗”归“雅”的“华丽转身”。吴友如的这一选择既在企图实现其“法超三昧,誉播千秋”的传统文人画家理想,更是对传统文化的一种坚守,对于19世纪末20世纪初的中国弥足珍贵。
Wu Youru, who lived in the late Qing dynasty, has been known to the world for his paintings and achievements because of “Dianshizhai Pictorial.” However, due to the fact that “Doshizhai Pictorial” as a vulgar pictorial presents “vulgar ” deviates from Wu Youru’s artistic ideal, 16 years after Guangxu’s reign, Wu Youru resolutely established the “Flying Shadow Pavilion Pictorial” and “Flying Shadow Pavilion Album ”, to achieve its from the“ vulgar ”to“ Ya ”“ gorgeous turn ”. This choice of Wu Youru is both an ideal of traditional literati painters and an adherence to traditional culture in his attempt to realize his “super-samadhi and his reputation”. It is precious for China in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
