The effect of phosphorus on the creep properties of IN718 alloy was studied. The results show that phosphorus significantly enhances creep resistance. Phosphorus does not have a significant effect on the stress index. Doping with 0.02% phosphorous resulted in an apparent creep activation energy of 678. 5kJ / mol to 746.1kJ / mol. The beneficial effects of phosphorus may be achieved by inhibiting grain boundary diffusion.
