Objective: To understand the incidence of asymptomatic hypoglycemia in neonates and to explore the factors that cause their occurrence. Methods: A total of 1,477 neonates born from January 2009 to July 2010 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology were monitored for blood glucose, and related factors were analyzed in 52 asymptomatic neonates with hypoglycemia. Results: ①In this group, the incidence of hypoglycemia in asymptomatic neonates was 3.6%. The average blood glucose level of neonatal asymptomatic hypoglycemia group was (1.779 ± 0.276) mmol / L, and the symptomatic hypoglycemia group was (1.393 ± 0.374) mmol / L. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.001). ② premature children, maternal and children with associated diseases or complications more likely to induce neonatal hypoglycemia with clinical symptoms (P <0.05). Conclusion: Asymptomatic hypoglycemia in neonates is easily neglected by clinicians, and blood sugar screening can effectively reduce the adverse consequences caused by it.
