目前出版的有关城市的辞书,对于与城市相关的词汇,大都是从城市学、城市经济学或社会学的角度来定义的。许多定义或多或少地把欧美城市的概念套用到中国城市,从中很难了解中国城市用语的特定涵义。更有不少中国城市特有的用语,至今还很少有确切的诠释。《城市用语新释》对近年来出现和使用频繁的城市用语,包括书面用语和口头用语,分条目加以全新的释义。常见有关中国城市词汇的解释,往往注重现时一般含义的解释和词汇来源的简单考证。中国城市有四千多年的历史,一百多年以来又经历了近代和现代化的过程。许多古老的用语,有的被淘汰,至今还在使用的也在不同历史时期不断被赋予新的含义。不论沿用至今的古老用语还是近现代产生的新用语,其内涵和使用都伴随着中国城市和社会的演变不断发生着改变。《城市用语新释》注重城市用语来源和涵义演变的探讨,使读者对这些用语的历史内涵有更深刻的了解,同时也透过这些词汇对中国城市的深厚文化底蕴产生新的认知。《城市用语新释》将系列分期刊登,每篇大约选登两三个条目,条目之间没有先后的顺序。
The current dictionaries on cities are mostly defined in terms of city studies, urban economics or sociology for urban-related terms. Many definitions apply the concepts of European and American cities to Chinese cities to a greater or lesser extent, from which it is difficult to understand the specific meanings of Chinese urban terms. There are quite a few words that are unique to Chinese cities, so far there are very few precise interpretations. The New Interpretation of Urban Terminology interprets new and emerging urban terms in both Chinese and English in recent years, including written terms and verbal expressions. Common explanations of Chinese city words tend to focus on the current general meaning of the interpretation and vocabulary sources of simple textual research. Chinese cities have a history of more than 4000 years and they have undergone modernization and modernization over a hundred years ago. Many ancient terms, some of them were eliminated, and still in use today, have been continuously given new meanings in different historical periods. The connotation and use of ancient Chinese terms, as well as modern ones, are constantly changing with the evolution of Chinese cities and society. The new interpretation of urban terms pays attention to the exploration of the origin and meaning of urban terms and gives readers a more profound understanding of the historical connotation of these terms and a new understanding of the deep cultural heritage of Chinese cities through these terms. The new interpretation of the urban language will be published in installments, each with about two or three entries, without any prior order.
