在中国戏曲发展史上,自雅部衰落,花部兴起之后,戏曲音乐出现了重大的变革,板式音乐动摇了曲牌联套的统治地位,逐渐成为民族戏曲音乐的主要形式。板式唱腔的唱词大多以七字和十字句为主;板式唱腔的唱段也多是不同数量的上下句组成的双数句。甘肃影子戏以板式音乐为主体,但其唱词、唱段又有不同于其他剧种的独自特征:唱段单数句、尾句要减字。而此特征源远流长,影响深远。
