1884年《野鸭》的出版标志着易卜生创作特征的转变。在这一阶段的作品表现出来与现实主义社会问题剧极大的不同。在创作方法上从现实主义转向象征主义;在艺术手法上由直面现实的讨论到描写幻象、运用象征手法。这一系列的转变都表明了,在这一阶段易卜生开始不再推崇社会问题剧高举真理的理想主义者的高尚和勇敢,而是回归到人的本身,更多的关注人的生存状态,从人物内心的矛盾冲突来探讨虚幻世界背后的人们处境的尴尬。 The publication of “The Wild Duck” in 1884 marked a shift in Ibsen’s creative features. The works at this stage show a dramatic difference from the realist social issues. In the method of creation, he turned from realism to symbolism; from the straightforward discussion of art to the description of illusion and the symbolism.
