烃源岩的研究与评价是油气地球化学理论在油气勘探实践中应用的主要方面之一。从地球化学角度讲烃源岩是指具备了生油条件,已经生成并能排出具有工业价值油、气的岩石。一个地区(盆地)或层系的含油远景如何,首先就取决于烃源岩的生烃潜力,所有烃源岩研究的主要任务就是确定目的层的生烃潜力。本次对黄陵探区延长组烃源岩分布、有机质丰度、有机质类型、成熟度及生化特征进行研究和评价,结果表明黄陵地区延长组长4+5油层组暗色泥岩主要为非~差烃源岩,成熟度低,长6油层组暗色泥岩的烃源岩类型主要为差烃源岩、好-中等烃源岩,而长7油层组烃源岩主要为好烃源岩,成熟度较高,为本区主要的有效烃源岩。
