As eWeek set out to identify CRM innovators, we decided to add a new standard to our selection methodology. We recognize that CRM is more than just deploying technology in the dark, it also means using it not only to increase understanding of each customer's needs, but also to meet those needs with personalized content and services. Therefore, we think there is a need for a new way to critically and carefully evaluate the work done by e-business innovators online. To this end, we have added a partner, it is the Gartner Group company. As with the previous FastTrack Awards, we provided an initial list of CRM innovators with the help of our old friend Harte-Hanks Marketing Intelligence. Harte-Hanks has a product and technology presence at 260,000 data centers and other corporate sites in North America
