Although carbon fiber, polyamide fiber, and the like are expensive, due to their excellent comprehensive characteristics, they have been rapidly developed in recent years and are widely used in various fields of fiber-reinforced composite materials. Recently, Leeds University in the UK successfully developed high-molecular-weight polyethylene fibers, and the Dutch DSM company successfully carried out commercial production.
