人类传播技术的发展、特别是以数字化、网络化为特征的新媒介的出现,使大众传播产生了结构性的变化,标志了新的媒介时代的到来。日新月异的传播媒介和无穷无尽的信息传达,空前改变了人们的生活方式甚至生存方式。心理学实验表明,长期压力对个体的健康是极其不利的,个体必须通过某种渠道舒缓压力。青少年由于处于生理、心理的过渡期,更需要有渠道来舒缓他们疲惫的心灵。西格蒙德·弗洛伊德将游戏看作是儿童用以补偿日常生活中所遇到的焦虑和挫折的一种手段,儿童的“胜利的欲望”通过游戏环境得以“实现”。娱乐化媒介环境与游戏环境对青少年而言具有相同的功能,成为青少年化解在“自然环境”-辛产生的“敌对情绪”的有效途径。
