我于1922年出生于哈尔滨。父亲吴玉如,原籍安徽泾县茂林,是一位典型的自学成材的读书人。他只上过几个月的大学,便因要养家糊口而远走东北,谋求生计。他有旧学根柢,从年轻时就吃文字饭。因“九·一八”事变东北沦陷回到关内,直到1935年,才应母校校长张伯苓先生之召到南开大学文学院任教。我受家庭熏陶,从小爱好古典文学。上小学时,父亲每天口授唐诗;未几又接触《毛诗》和《论语》、《孟子》,陆续读过一点古书。1937年抗日战争爆发,我辍学一年,在
I was born in Harbin in 1922. His father, Wu Yuru, originally from Maolin, Jing County, Anhui Province, is a typical self-taught scholar. He had only been in a few-month university so he had to go far to the northeast in order to feed his family and make his living. He has the old roots, eating textbooks from a young age. Because of the “September 18 Incident”, the northeast fell back to the interior.
