从上个世纪80年代末Jacobson提出TCP的拥塞控制算法到现在,其算法经过不断发展和完善,在传统网络中具有优良的性能。但是,随着目前网络性能和网络环境的巨大变化,大量的试验和分析证明传统的控制算法(AIMD)并不适用于高速率、大延时的网络中的大块数据传送以及其他一些新出现的网络应用,如网格、多媒体数据传输等。在这篇文章中,我们将回顾和比较一些目前新出现的TCP代替协议,它们试图从不同的方面来解决上述问题。我们认为,在高性能网络中这些新的协议将有可能代替现有的TCP协议栈。
From the late 80s of last century, Jacobson proposed TCP congestion control algorithm up to now, its algorithm has been developed and perfected, with excellent performance in the traditional network. However, with the tremendous changes in current network performance and network environment, a large number of experiments and analyzes have proved that traditional control algorithms (AIMDs) are not suitable for bulk data transfer in high-rate, large-delay networks and other emerging issues Network applications, such as grid, multimedia data transmission. In this article, we will review and compare some of the current emerging TCP replacement protocols that attempt to address these issues in different ways. We think these new protocols will likely replace the existing TCP stack in high-performance networks.
