在螺旋压缩弹簧的设计中,当载荷很大,且安装空间有限时,或要求用较低强度的材料代替高强度材料时,常用两根(或三根)直径不同的弹簧套在一起,使其轴线重合(同心)而组成一弹簧族,这就是组合弹簧,如图1所示。为了避免内外两层弹簧之间相互卡住,往往将两者的螺旋线制成相反的旋向,例如外弹簧为右旋时,内弹簧用左旋。组合弹簧与单根弹簧相比,具有结构紧凑、材料节省及由于金属丝直径减小而制造方便等优点。
