唐代草书大家孙过庭说“草以点画为情性,使转为形质”。“性情”与“形质”是草书审美中互为矛盾的两个方面:“形质”有法,“性情”无法,两者既对立又统一,草书的大千世界正是在极为复杂的书写运动中创造出来的。的确,草书作为艺术是奇妙的。它是时间、空间二维兼备的艺术形式,也是诸多书体中最具形式感也最为抽象的,故而,草书的创作颇具难度。它不仅体现了书家对线条造型、汉字造型以及通篇造型的一种高屋建瓴的驾驭能力,也是书家内在精神的瞬间即永恒的最佳展露与完美呈现。
