在巩留县以南的凯特明山东端的前山峡谷中分布看一片野核桃（Juglansregia）林，它是新疆伊犁野果林的主要组成树种，是珍贵的山地“残遗”群落。新疆野核桃与栽培核桃在形态上及品质上极其相似，它是栽培核桃的直系祖先，由于长期的实生繁殖，它有许多变异类型。作者于1985－1989年参加了《伊犁野果林的综合研究》课题，对几种野生果树进行了定点观察记载，对野核桃的植物学特征，生物学特性、生境、经济性状、抗寒性、抗病性等方面作了重点调查，并作了种下分类。本文简述了野核桃十四个类型的主要形态特征，生长结果习性，经济性状等，其中有一些薄壳型、丰产型及抗寒抗病等类型，有的品质极佳，可供研究和利用者参考。
The distribution of Juglans regia forests in the Qianshan Gorge at the eastern end of Kettering Mountain to the south of Gongliu County is a major tree species of the mangrove forests in Yili, Xinjiang. It is a valuable “remnant” community of mountains. Xinjiang wild walnut and cultivated walnut morphology and quality is extremely similar, it is the immediate ancestor of walnut cultivation, due to long-term real-life breeding, it has many variations. In 1985-1989, the author participated in the research project of “comprehensive research on the wild fruit trees in Ili Prefecture”, and observed and recorded several wild fruit trees. The author studied the botany characteristics, biological characteristics, habitats, economic characters, cold resistance, Disease resistance and other aspects made a key survey, and made a classification. This article describes the main morphological characteristics of fourteen types of wild walnuts, the growth of habits, economic traits, some of which are thin shell type, high yield and cold and disease resistance and other types, and some excellent quality for research and User reference.
