Cdc42,a member of the Rho GTPase family,plays critical roles in multiple cell functions,such as organization of the cytoskeleton,cell proliferation,cell polarity,and cellular transport.However,the involvement of Cdc42 in liver functions including detoxification and metabolisms has been rarely studied.In previous studies,we and other have observed that hepatocyte-specific knockout of cdc42 (Cdc42LK) led to hepatocarcinogenesis and also resulted in delayed liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy in mice.The contradictory results of Cdc42 regulating cell proliferation implied the complexity roles of Cdc42 in liver functions.More recently,an extremely high level of serum bile acids in the Cdc42LK mice was observed.
