In the Mexico country exist around 186 species of the genus Agave,its majority be wild like A.lecheguilla,A.rhodacantha,A.inaequidens and few cultivated like henequen (A.fourcroydes Lem.),Agave tequilero (A.tequilana Weber),Maguey espadín (A.angustifolia,Haw),Maguey mezcal (A.potatorum Zucc.),Agave pulquero (A.atrovirens Kawr.),that is used for the fiber production,fermented and distilled beverages,and for it only use the organs to obtain the fibers (leaves) or sweetened juice are extracted (stem and base of leaves).
